About this place

⚠ PERMANENTLY CLOSED — This butterfly farm has been closed since at least October 5, 2021 (per the most recent Google review on the property's listing). This page exists as a historical record so visitors planning a Marinduque trip can confirm the closure rather than be surprised at the gate. If you were planning a Gasan butterfly stop, see "What to Do Instead" below — and consider Marl Insects and Butterfly Culture in Boac, the province's other operating butterfly farm.

The Pangi Butterfly Farm — also known as WHS Butterfly Farm — was, for years, one of Gasan's distinctive visitor attractions and part of Marinduque's small but notable butterfly industry. Located at 136 Quezon Boulevard in Gasan, the farm featured butterfly gardens with a variety of species and a waterfall on the property, and for a generation of local visitors and Philippine travelers, it was a recognizable stop on the Marinduque map.

As of the most recent update, the farm is permanently closed.

Why This Page Exists

We're keeping this entry live for three reasons:

1. Historical context. Pangi Butterfly Farm showed up on enough Marinduque itineraries, guidebooks, and travel blogs that visitors still find references and sometimes plan to visit. A confirmed "permanently closed" note is more useful than a surprise at the gate.

2. Industry preservation. Marinduque's butterfly industry was once a quietly distinguishing part of the province's tourism identity. Even if individual operations close, the broader story is worth remembering — and a record of where these farms operated helps preserve that history.

3. Honest directories help travelers. The goal of this guide is to get visitors to places that are still open and welcoming. When a site like Pangi closes, the honest move is to label it clearly and redirect travelers toward operations still running.

A Note on Historical Details

For context: historical entrance fees at the farm were typically PHP 50 for children, students, and senior citizens, and PHP 80 for adults, though one older source mentioned a PHP 20 rate. The published phone number on file was +63 42 342 1016, and the Facebook page remains online at facebook.com/p/Butterfly-farm-100067928264323/. TripAdvisor's review page is still accessible at tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1026955-d1730548.

What to Do Instead

If you were hoping for a nature or wildlife stop in Gasan, consider:

These three together cover the nature-oriented Gasan experience that the butterfly farm used to be one part of.
