About this place

Marahuyo Casitas sits directly on Poctoy White Beach in Brgy. Poctoy, Torrijos — the long, pale stretch of sand the provincial tourism office calls Marinduque's "crown jewel" (Marinduque Tourism, November 24, 2025). Over a kilometer of powdery white sand at the foot of Mt. Malindig, with the silhouettes of the Bondoc Peninsula and Romblon Island on the horizon. The resort itself is a small, owner-run beachfront cluster built around named casitas plus a Tree House — a different shape than the standard rooms-along-a-corridor setup most of the Poctoy cluster offers. It positions itself for couples and small celebrations, and the most detailed Google review on the page is from someone who booked multiple casitas for their mother's 70th birthday.

What You Can Book

Three named accommodation tiers showed up in a verified July 2025 Google review (rates from that stay — confirm current pricing before booking, since these can change):

- Aruga Casitas — ₱6,500 for 5 pax - Sinta Casitas — ₱4,000 for 2 pax - Tree House — ₱3,000 for 2 pax

Rooms are bookable with or without breakfast. The breakfast add-on was ₱250 per person at the time of that review. The resort runs an on-site kitchen branded "Caprice Bar & Restaurant" (the wordmark appears on the property's March 26, 2024 Facebook featured post announcing new operating hours); lunch and dinner reservations go through the same line used for booking, and walk-ins are welcome.

What Visitors Say

Nine ratings averaging 4.3 stars on Google — small sample, but the reviews give you a clear shape of the place.

The high mark, from July 2025: "Located right on the pristine white beach of Poctoy… this beachfront paradise offers stunning views and relaxing ambiance. The infinity pool overlooking the beach is a dream come true!" That's the Marnelli Moreno 70th-birthday review — the most useful one on the page if you're sizing the resort up for a multi-casita booking. A December 2025 visitor put it more bluntly: "One word…'Amazing.' It is NOT easy to get to, but worth it."

A measured ★4 from April 2025: "Perfect for couple seeking peace and quiet place. Clean room, property with own parking space and pool, beach front. Food not good." So the room, the pool, and the beach access all check — but the on-site food is the weak link in that account. If eating well matters, plan to walk back to the Torrijos Poblacion for a proper meal at some point.

The honest counterpoint is a ★2 from May 2025 about beach cleanliness: "some garbages are scattered on the beaches and some bottles can be found on the ocean floor." Worth knowing this is a public-beach issue, not the resort grounds.

For the older, lived voice of the place — what it has been like to stand on this stretch at night, long before #marinduqueloop2025 was a tag — the most quoted local piece is Eli J. Obligacion's 2017 reflection on the Marinduque Rising blog, recalling an earlier visit: "It was a moonlit night, but not a single soul could be seen there. Just as well." That's still the original character of Poctoy outside festival weekends: small, family-style, quiet enough on a non-peak night that you can have the sand to yourself. Travel YouTuber Vrain TV (@vraintv4817) framed Marahuyo specifically as "one of elegant resort" in a walk-through tour titled "Marahuyo Casitas Resort" — outside editorial framing, not a self-claim, but it lines up with the recurring descriptors in collected travel content: "quiet and serene," "ideal for relaxation and water activities," "casitas facing the beach."

What to Know Before You Go

Marahuyo published a phone number on its own Facebook page on March 26, 2024, alongside new operating hours — call +63 908 433 9385 to confirm rates, casita availability, breakfast options, and to ask whether Caprice is open on your dates. The Facebook page itself (Marahuyo Casitas, listed as a Hotel with 3,100+ followers) is the canonical booking channel; the page replies through Messenger and posts updates regularly. A May 27, 2025 featured post, jokingly captioned "Marahuyo Casitas na umabot ng Santorini Greece," gives a sense of the page's day-to-day voice.

The "not easy to get to" line from the December 2025 reviewer is real local context. Poctoy is on the eastern coast of Marinduque; from Boac it's a few hours by car or van, and Google's drive ETA doesn't fully account for road quality. Plan tricycle or van logistics ahead, especially if you're arriving from the Balanacan port.

The wider Poctoy beach is run by the Torrijos LGU and shares its sand with day-trippers and locals. Per Out of Town Blog field reporting on Poctoy: entrance fee ₱25 per person at the gate, environmental fee ₱50 per person, day-use cottage ₱300, overnight ₱600, air-conditioned cottage ₱1,500–₱2,000 for 24 hours depending on season, bring-your-own tent free (rental ₱400–₱500). Lifeguards are on-site and the beach is raked twice a day. Paluto-style fresh seafood is available at the public food stalls if you want a meal outside the resort. Those rates are for the public stretch — Marahuyo's own casita pricing is separate; confirm by calling.

Where It Sits

Marahuyo Casitas sits on the same Poctoy White Beach stretch as Murillo's Beach Resort, Rendezvous Beach Resort, and Marilou & Hanspeter Homestay — the small cluster that anchors Torrijos's most popular swim beach. You can walk between the resorts to compare on-site, and Ludy's Original Halo-Halo back in the Torrijos Poblacion is the standard treat on the way home.

Booking and Contact

- Phone: +63 908 433 9385 (lunch & dinner reservations and general inquiries; published on the property's FB page March 26, 2024) - Facebook: Marahuyo Casitas (page category: Hotel; 3,100+ followers; the canonical booking channel) - Messenger: m.me/100088304421808 - Instagram: tagged content at @marahuyocasitas; features by @marinduqueislandadventures - YouTube: a property tour titled "Marahuyo Casitas Resort" by Vrain TV is available - Email: not published as of mid-2026 — use Messenger or the phone above

Why to Consider

If your trip is a couple's escape or a small-celebration booking that wants room types beyond the standard hotel-room shape, Marahuyo Casitas is one of the more distinctive picks on Poctoy White Beach. The infinity pool over the sand is the visual draw, the casitas-plus-Tree-House lineup gives you booking flexibility, the on-site Caprice kitchen takes meal reservations, and the 4.3 across nine reviews is small-sample but consistent — the people who go, like it. Plan the food side around the resort rather than expect everything in it (per the April 2025 ★4), call +63 908 433 9385 before locking a date, and if you arrive on a non-festival weekday you may still find Eli J. Obligacion's moonlit-empty version of the beach.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday at Marahuyo Casitas and it was truly unforgettable! Located right on the pristine white beach of Poctoy, Torrijos, Marinduque, this beachfront paradise offers stunning views and relaxing ambiance. The infinity pool overlooking the beach is a dream come true! We booked multiple units - Aruga Casitas (₱6,500 for 5 pax), Sinta Casitas (₱4,000 for 2 pax), and the cozy Tree House (₱3,000 for 2 pax). The rooms were cozy and perfect for our family celebration. We availed their rate without breakfast, but had the option to add breakfast for ₱250/person. The staff were accommodating and made our stay special. Highly recommend for special occasions or just a relaxing getaway! 📍Marahuyo Casitas White Beach, Poctoy, Torrijos, Marinduque
