About this place

On the southern Torrijos coast in Sitio Bagasbas, Brgy. Cabuyo, Bagasbas Beach Resort sits well off the busier Poctoy White Beach loop. It's the kind of small hotel-and-day-use spot locals find through word of mouth — there's no booking-site presence, and you'll actually see it on Facebook under two names ("Bagasbas Hotel" and "Bagasbas Beach Resort Marinduque") that both point to the same property along the Boac–Gasan–Torrijos Road. The lingo for it tends to follow whoever told you about it first.

What You Can Book

You can take a hotel room for the night, or rent a kubo — an open-air native hut — by the day. Day-trippers are part of the regular rhythm here, not just overnight guests, and Google flags the place as good for children.

What Visitors Say

There aren't many reviews to work with — eight ratings, averaging 4.6 stars — but they tell a clear and honest story when you read them.

The most recent visitor, in March 2026, called it "the perfect crossroads between the deep, quiet forest and a stunning ocean view." The older five-star reviews echo the same sentiment in fewer words: "best vacation experience" and "nice place, standard food, fits budget."

The honest counterpoint is one two-star review from September 2024 worth knowing about before you drive out. The reviewer rented a kubo for the day and ran into two issues: nearby groups brought their own karaoke at full volume, and a piggery on the neighboring lot can carry on the wind. Their take, even at two stars: "Bagasbas has a lot of potential."

What to Know Before You Go

Hours and current rates aren't published anywhere — call or message the Facebook page before making the trip. If you're coming for the "deep quiet forest" version of the place, ask for a weekday rather than a busy Saturday with three karaoke parties going at once.

Where It Sits

The resort sits along the Boac–Gasan–Torrijos Road in the southern stretch of Torrijos. For a longer day on this side of the island, pair the stay with Pulang Lupa Shrine for the historical stop, the Torrijos Tunnel of Lights for a night-photo landmark, or Sibuyao Highlands when you want elevation. Ludy's Original Halo-Halo back in the Torrijos Poblacion is the standard treat on the way home.

Why to Consider

If you want predictable polish and a booking link, the Beach Club Cagpo or Poctoy cluster is the safer call. If you want a quieter, locals-know-it stretch of the Torrijos coast and don't mind a phone-only booking flow, Bagasbas is one of the more under-the-radar picks. Pick a weekday, ask about the karaoke situation, and you'll get the version of the place the most recent reviewer fell for.

Best Time to Visit

Book in advance during Moriones Festival (Holy Week).

"If you're looking for a place to actually hear yourself think, this is it. It’s the perfect crossroads between the deep, quiet forest and a stunning ocean view. Falling asleep to the sound of wind through the pines and waking up to the sun hitting the water was incredible. It’s rare to find a spot this peaceful that doesn't feel completely disconnected from comfort. 10/10 for anyone needing a soul-reset."

  • Rented a kubo for the day. There’s a lot of room for improvement and it seems owners and management are all working on it. Bagasbas has a lot of potential, however, It was not a relaxing day at all. It is a real , topsy turvy and a noisy place when there are three or more karaoke machines going on at the same time on full volume. To make matters worse, all these off-key singers are all singing at the same time trying to out do the other singers from the other parties. This is an easy fix: Get rid of those machines or designate a special sound-proof room just for all these aspiring singing stars. Lastly, Management has to work with the LGU and the owners of the piggery next door. It was not a very pleasant experience putting up with the real bad odor when people are trying to relax and breath some fresh air.
