About this place
On the corner of Nepomuceno and Lardizabal Streets in Boac, Chinggay's has carved out its niche in the town's café scene as the student-friendly, social-aesthetic spot rather than a traditional eatery. Locals describe it as a warm and inviting hangout built for casual meet-ups, group sessions, and the kind of afternoons where the order is "another round of frappes." For Boac's growing café crowd, this is one of the regular stops.
The Vibe
Chinggay's aesthetic-café energy is intentional. Marnelli Fernando-Moreno, after a visit, described it well:
"Chinggay's boasts a warm and inviting ambiance, perfect for a relaxing cup of coffee or a catch-up with friends. If you're a coffee lover or just looking for a new spot to hang out, this new café is definitely worth checking out!"
That catch-up-with-friends framing is exactly the use case the place serves. It's not a quick-grab coffee window — it's a place to settle in.

The 10 AM opening lines up well with mid-morning study sessions; the 8 PM close still gives you a full afternoon-into-evening window.
Why It Stands Out
Boac has its share of cafés. Chinggay's earns its spot by being aesthetically deliberate — it's the kind of place you take a photo of, tag a friend in, and end up visiting again the next week. For travelers passing through Boac who want a café stop with character, this is one of the right picks.
Best Time to Visit
Open year-round. Best to visit during mealtime rush for fresh supplies.

GoogleSuper cute and clean, we ordered their dirty ube latte, they make it with real coffee beans, which are locally sourced. The coffee was strong too. I highly recommend this place. Support local business too. They also have matcha latte which isn’t on their menu.
I really like their food and coffee selection! Really had to drop by Chinggay's whenever we're in Boac. Place is also clean and aesthetic!
