🍽️Calle Labao Diner
Famous forMogpog's only fresh-daily noodle house — ramen, Charlie Chan, beef/seafood noodles, and Pad Thai built on noodles the kitchen rolls themselves every morning.
About this place
Calle Labao Diner is the kind of place that sneaks up on you. On a stretch of Labao Street in Dulong Bayan, Mogpog, there's a small Asian-noodle house quietly turning out ramen, Charlie Chan, pad thai, and beef noodles — using noodles they roll themselves every morning. In a province where most kainan stick to the standard adobo-sinigang lineup, that's unusual.
What's on the Menu
The mains lean Asian: ramen, beef noodles, seafood noodles, Charlie Chan, and pad thai. All built on the same house-made noodle base, which is what makes any of them work. Pair with chicken siomai or pork dumplings (gyoza) on the side. The fresh-noodle detail isn't marketing — most provincial noodle joints rely on dried imports, and the texture difference shows up the moment the bowl hits the table.
Where It Sits
Labao Street runs through Dulong Bayan, the western edge of Mogpog's town center. The Mogpog Cathedral, public market, and Poblacion Pares Atbp. are all walking distance. For travelers basing in Mogpog poblacion or passing through between Boac and Sta. Cruz, Calle Labao is an easy lunch or dinner stop.
Worth Knowing
Don't expect a big menu. The kitchen knows what it does — noodles, dumplings, that's it — and it does them properly. If you're with a group that wants variety beyond Asian noodles, this isn't the stop. If you want noodles done right in a town that rarely serves them, this is the one.
Best Time to Visit
Lunch is reliable. Dinner is the better experience if you want the noodles fresh-pulled rather than from the lunchtime batch — call ahead if you're a small group and want them to time it. Avoid showing up right at noon on weekends; the small dining area fills fast.
What to Bring
How to Get Here
From the Mogpog town center, walk west along the road toward Labao Street — about 5–10 minutes on foot, or a quick tricycle ride. Drivers know "Calle Labao" or just "Dulong Bayan." From Boac, take any northbound jeepney or van toward Sta. Cruz; ask to be dropped at Mogpog poblacion, then a tricycle through Dulong Bayan. From Balanacan Port (the main ferry arrival), it's about 10 minutes south by tricycle to Mogpog poblacion, then onward to Labao Street.
Local routes, fares, and ferry schedules can shift without notice — and travel times depend on weather, traffic, and tide. Confirm fares and timing with the driver or locals before you set out.
